Senator Stephen Conroy, the Australian government's Minister for Broadband, Communications and the Digital, has outlined proposals to tackle illegal peer-to-peer file-sharing. This includes the controversial "three strikes" system which requires ISPs to ban Internet users accused of copyright infringement.
The owner of an Australian web-forum is being sued for $42.5-million for defamatory comments posted on the web-site.
